Traffic Diversions Announced Ahead of Sansad Khel Mahakumbh at KD Singh Babu Stadium

Lucknow: Authorities have issued an advisory for traffic diversions and parking arrangements in light of the Sansad Khel Mahakumbh, scheduled to be held from April 19 to April 21, 2025, at KD Singh Babu Stadium in Lucknow. The inaugural ceremony on April 19 at 9:30 AM will witness the presence of  Defence Minister of India, Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, other dignitaries, and around 20,000 school children.

To ensure smooth conduct of the event, traffic movement and parking arrangements in and around the stadium will be regulated from 7:00 AM on April 19 until the conclusion of the inaugural programme.

Traffic Diversion Plan:

  1. General traffic from Daliganj Pul Chauraha will not be allowed towards Clarke Awadh Tiraaha–Subhash Chauraha–Hazratganj Chauraha. Instead, vehicles must take Daliganj Ikka Tanga Chauraha–IT Chauraha–City Station–Kaisarbagh Bus Stand–Ashok Lat Chauraha.

  2. Traffic from Clarke Awadh Tiraaha/Subhash Chauraha will not proceed towards Hazratganj; it must divert via Subhash/Parivartan Chauraha–Ashok Lat Chauraha–Lalbagh.

  3. Vehicles from Ashok Lat Chauraha will not be allowed towards Parivartan/Subhash/Hazratganj Chauraha, and must use alternate routes via Kaisarbagh Bus Stand–Swasthya Bhawan–CDRI Chauraha–Daliganj Chauraha–Burlington/Royal Hotel.

  4. IT Chauraha traffic will be restricted towards Subhash/Hazratganj Chauraha, and must go via Nishatganj or Daliganj Chauraha.

  5. From Hazratganj Chauraha, no entry will be permitted towards Alka Tiraaha–Mayfair Tiraaha–Subhash Chauraha–Daliganj Chauraha. Vehicles must divert via Gol Market Chauraha–IT Chauraha–Royal Hotel–Burlington–Kaisarbagh Bus Stand or Lalbagh.

  6. No traffic from Lalbagh Chauraha towards Mayfair Tiraaha; vehicles must take Royal Hotel Chauraha instead.

  7. Fire Station Tiraaha to Valmiki Tiraaha will remain closed for general traffic. Use Lalbagh–Royal Hotel Chauraha as alternative.

  8. Traffic from Sahara Ganj Tiraaha to Chiraiyya Jheel is restricted. Vehicles should go via Hazratganj–Royal Hotel Chauraha.

  9. From Motimahal Tiraaha, no traffic allowed towards SBI Tiraaha/KD Singh Stadium; diversion via Saharaganj–Sikanderbagh.

  10. Traffic from Chiraiyya Jheel Tiraaha to Clarke Awadh Tiraaha, Motimahal to KD Singh Stadium Tiraaha, and Hindi Sansthan Tiraaha is completely restricted.

  11. No vehicle parking will be permitted between SBI Tiraaha to Motimahal Tiraaha as it is a VVIP route.

  12. Roadways/city buses/commercial vehicles will not be allowed from Samta Mulak Chauraha, 1090 Chauraha via Sankalp Vatika Overbridge or Chiraiyya Jheel to Clarke Awadh Tiraaha. These vehicles must use Kamta Tiraaha–Shaheed Path–Utrethia Chauraha–Telibagh–Kariappa–Kunwar Jagdish Chauraha–KKC Railway Underpass.

  13. Roadways/city buses/commercial vehicles from Burlington Chauraha or 1090 Chauraha to Hazratganj are prohibited.

  14. Sankalp Vatika Overbridge (PNT Balu Adda) to Chiraiyya Jheel will remain restricted for all types of traffic.

  15. Traffic from Nishatganj towards Paper Mill Tiraaha–Sikanderbagh will be restricted and must divert via Paper Mill–RR Bandha–Samta Mulak.

  16. Roadways/city buses from Charbagh towards KKC to Hazratganj will be restricted and diverted via KKC–Kunwar Jagdish Chauraha–Bangla Bazaar.

  1. SBI Tiraaha to Hindi Sansthan Tiraaha

  2. Sarojini Naidu Park (Underground Parking)

  3. Inside Motimahal Lawn

  4. National PG College Sports Ground

  5. Laxman Mela Ground

  6. Shahnajaf Imambara Ground

  7. Nadwa Bandha Road

  8. Lucknow University Sports Ground

  9. Jhulelal Park

  10. DM Residence Petrol Pump Tiraaha to Parivartan Chauraha

  11. La Martiniere Girls’ Inter College Ground

  12. Parivartan Chauraha to Swasthya Bhawan Chauraha

The city administration urges the public to cooperate and follow traffic guidelines during the event period to avoid inconvenience.
